TECHNOLOGY CONSULTING

Benefit from our Know How

Advantages

  • Reduction of pores
  • Avoidance of hot and hardening cracks
  • Higher welding depth for the same performance or
  • Lower energy input with the same welding depth
  • Less warpage
  • Parallel seam flanks
  • No steaming
  • Better corrosion resistance

The aim of technology consulting is always to demonstrate these advantages on your products!

A new technology will only be considered if it offers technological or economic advantages. In the best case, however, both! In the context of technology consulting we inform you about the possibilities of our technology and the benefits for your products.

Always focusing on the customer's wishes

At LaVa-X, your individual requirements always come first. We accompany you and your products in every product life cycle, be it from the first sketch, an existing production drawing to be optimized for laser beam welding, or an existing product.

Development partners right from the start

Our design engineers, welding engineers and automation technicians are pleased to present the possibilities of the process and our concept of modular machine construction for laser beam welding in vacuum. In the first step, we work with you to analyze the joining process requirements arising from your products. We also support you in the laser beam compatible design of your components.

Process development at university level

During process development, the correct welding parameters for the optimum seam geometry are determined. The weld seam is then qualified according to metallographic and mechanical-technological parameters.

Our services in detail

Design and clamping technology

The foundation for being able to exploit the full potential of technology lies in the component design and the appropriate clamping technology. We accompany you from the first sketch to the "beam-weldable" production drawing up to the construction of the clamping device.

Our designers are equipped with modern 3D-CAD software and are looking forward to your task.

Our own machinery for prototype development enables a fast implementation.

Process Development

The sealing welding of a sensor made of stainless steel with a welding depth of a few millimeters, material combinations of copper and aluminum for electromobility or for thick-walled structures in power engineering, for each component we will find the optimal welding parameters for you.

Our experienced welding engineers use novel laser sources (single mode fiber laser & 12kW disk laser) combined with different welding optics (2-D scanner & HighPower Wobbler) to develop the right process for your product.

Metallography

With the production of macro- and microsection images, a statement can be made about the weld seam geometry and quality. This way, bonding defects, pores or cracks can be clearly identified.

We have a well-equipped laboratory with the necessary aids for sample preparation and microscopic evaluation.

The evaluation of the weld seams in the micrograph is carried out according to DIN EN ISO 13919-1.

Weld Seam Qualification

The mechanical-technological properties of the joint can be determined using various test methods. A distinction is made between destructive and non-destructive methods.

We offer the following test methods as a service:

  • Penetrant testing according to DIN EN ISO 23277
  • Pressure test (oil) up to 400 bar in accordance with directive 2014/68/EU directive 2014/68/EU
  • Vickers hardness test according to DIN EN ISO 6507-1
  • Tensile test according to DIN EN ISO 6892-1
